How The Vegan Reviewer Started
The idea for creating vegan product and travel reviews wasn’t something I had planned. It grew—slowly, stubbornly—out of sheer frustration one afternoon as I sat at my computer, trying to plan a simple vacation to an all-inclusive resort in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico.
As a vegan traveler, I’ve learned that planning any getaway takes twice the time and triple the patience. It’s never just “pick a resort and go.” It’s location, beach, price—and then the biggest question of all: Will there be anything I can actually eat?
So, like always, I began my deep dive. I researched the area, compared resorts, and scrolled through endless photos. If a resort looked promising, I’d head over to travel review websites and type my usual search term into the reviews: “vegan.”
And like clockwork, the same lines appeared over and over again:
“Not really a good selection for vegans.”
“A vegan would starve here.”
After hours—sometimes days—of sorting through reviews, I’d finally narrow my list down to a few “maybes.” Then came the next challenge: finding menus on the resort websites. Most of them didn’t have any menus posted at all, which was incredibly frustrating because it would make the decision so much easier.
Still determined, I would reach out directly. I’d write emails asking about vegan options, hoping for clarity or reassurance. But the truth? Nine out of ten resorts never wrote back. And calling feels uncomfortable because of the language barrier. Every step felt like a chore and what was supposed to be a fun process turns out to be discouraging.
And it was during one of those long, tiring searches that a thought hit me:
Why isn’t there a platform that already has this information? Why isn’t there a place where vegans, can find clear, honest details about food options at resorts, hotels, and restaurants?
But that thought didn’t stop there. Because even when I’m not traveling, I’m still navigating the vegan world—finding new restaurants, trying new snacks, testing out beauty and bath products, and searching for items that are truly vegan and cruelty-free. And just like travel info, this everyday information is scattered, unclear, or hard to trust.
Which led to a louder realization:
Someone needs to create this.
And then the loudest one of all:
Maybe that someone is me.
That’s when the idea became a dream.
I decided to build a platform dedicated to honest, transparent vegan reviews—of products, food, restaurants, resorts, beauty items, and more. A place with real photos, menu pictures, product insights, location notes, and genuine experiences. Something I wish existed not only when I’m planning a trip, but also when I’m choosing what to eat, buy, or use in my everyday life.
I’m learning as I go, and this project comes from passion, not perfection—so I hope you’ll be patient and kind with me on this journey.
This is just the beginning.
And if I can make life—even in small ways—easier for a vegan out there searching for good food, great products, adventure, or simply a little peace of mind, then it will all be worth it.
